MASERU – Moeketsi “Chaltin” Tsatsanyane, the brains behind the success of the Basutoland Congress Party’s hard hitting tunes of the 90’s and a legendary music promoter has died.
Chaltin’s family says he passed away on Monday after contracting Covid19.
His home at Lower Thamae was turned into a recording studio that made music for the BCP and other local artists.
However international artists including Steve Kekana, Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu also owe their introduction to Lesotho through concerts organised by Chaltin.
His son, member of parliament for Stadium Area, Mokherane Tsatsanyane sent a message on social media confirming his father’s death.
In it he says “where do I even begin”… but he ends by saying “it is the will of god”
Members of the family say plans are already underway for his funeral to be held on Sunday.
