FORMER Deputy Commissioner of Police Keketso Monaheng, popularly known as ‘Tsoku’ says he has decided to join politics ahead of the national polls penciled in for September, 2022.

This is after the latter served the police force for well over 20 years until he went for retirement in 2019.

Speaking to the Lesotho Express, Monaheng said he had decided to join the Mathibeli Mokhothu led Democratic Congress of all the parties registered with the Independent Electoral Commission because of its principles.

“I decided to join DC because it boasts discipline, love and unity. This is the only one stable party that I have ever loved but could not publicly show as I was still a public servant. However, I have voted for it over the years and don’t regret that.

“I am not eyeing anything because I am not power hungry, but I feel it’s the right thing to do because I would really want to make a difference in my country and the livelihoods of Basotho as I have done in my years of service as a police officer.”

Monaheng said his objective is to turn around Lesotho for the betterment of everyone, and the only way he can achieve that is to take part in politics of development which are displayed by the DC.

“I am not bringing my status with me into this party, but I am here to learn from those who have been here before me, abide by the party constitution and follow the standards set by the leader of the party and that way I do believe that I will fulfill my dream of changing Lesotho and its administration.,” stated Monaheng.

DC spokesperson Serialong Qoo has indeed confirmed that Monaheng is their new member and they are proud to have someone of his caliber on board.

“It is not surprising that we have been joined by someone like ntate Monaheng because DC is a home for all where everyone is equally important, moreso when they believe in changing Lesotho and the livelihoods of its people.”

Meaning ntate Monaheng has been this blind when it comes to politics yet the country wrongly believed he was the right guy to head our police force???

Voting DC is a clear evidence of that!
