By Nthakoana Ngatane – The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) has explored agribusiness and food security partnership opportunities with Agribusiness Development Agency – ADA – of South Africa.
At the weekend Acting Chief Executive Officer, Molise Ramaili, and General Manager for Investments, Puseletso Makhakhe led a delegation that met their counterparts including ADA Senior project manager Mushtaq Hoosen in Pietermaritzburg.

LNDC is driving the government’s diversification and investment promotion agenda through priority sectors that include Agriculture and Agro-Processing, Manufacturing, Technology and Innovation, as well as Tourism & Creatives.
Hoosen presented an overview of the ADA and some projects supported by the ADA that include: Ntingwe Tea, River valley Farm- Crop production, Copper Sunset- Goat production, Lunginhlanhla Projects (Pty) Ltd. – Egg layers.

Following the engagement LNDC visited Rivervalley Farm, one of the flagship sustainable vegetable projects supported by ADA to see first hand what it has achieved.
LNDC believes that this collaboration is key for the country’s development of integrated value chains for crops and livestock in the country, the region, and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.
