MASERU- Prime Minister, Moeketsi Majoro, has survived a no confidence motion against his administration and thus remains in power.
This after the motion was today debated and voted on with those in support of Dr Majoro garnering 66 votes against 38 of those who wanted him out. Two members of parliament abstained from voting, bringing the total number of cast votes was 106.
The motion was filed by Mokhotlong legislator and Basotho Patriotic Party leader (BPP), Tefo Mapesela, and seconded by Alliance of Democrats legislator, Kose Makoa.
The failure of the no confidence motion spells a blow for the All Basotho Convention (ABC) leader, Nkaku Kabi, who was tipped to be the next premier had things gone according to plan.
