Matekane started his business 35 years ago in transport and logistics and over the years he has diversified into mining, farming, property, hospitality and aviation.
He says the core of his vision is to ensure that his people have a chance at a better life.
“I remain committed to extending a helping hand to the people of this beautiful mountain kingdom all in the effort to solving many of our development challenges” says Matekane
Matekane is also chairperson of Sesiu Solidarity Fund, a private sector initiative that has been spearheading business contribution to the fight against Covid19.
Lesotho prime minister Moeketsi Majoro congratulated Matekane and said “Forbes recognition of Lesotho award winning Sam Matekane as one of the continent’s foremost entrepreneurs must be a moment of pride for all Basotho. Congratulations Ntate. It is so much deserved! Stay the course.”
