MASERU – As part of commemorating His Majesty King Letsie III’s 58th birthday, members of the Socialist Revolution Party, led by Advocate Teboho Mojapela donated blood as a way of saving lives.

According to Party Secretary General ‘Mapali Molula, the party normally commemorates this day by cleaning the surroundings of Scott Hospital in Morija, where the king was born.

“Given the stringent measures to observe Covid-19 health protocols we chose to donate blood as we have seen that list people can’t convene in large numbers in one place, and yet somewhere, there is always someone who is in dire need of blood in order to be saved.

“We so much wanted to donate in large numbers on the very birth date but we were told that weekends are not working days, hence we had to make it at such short notice,” said Molula.

She appealed to all Basotho to donate blood because many people die on a daily basis because of blood shortage.
